Job Summary:

The Enterprise Integration Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting integration solutions that are effective, efficient, and secure. This role works closely with the business and other technical teams to understand integration requirements and implement solutions that enable and enhance SaskPower's business processes.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Strategic Planning: Plan, research, develop, evaluate, and implement processes, policies, and procedures utilized for the development of strategies and business initiatives that address the organization's requirements.
  2. Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in a specialized function to develop, implement, coach, and assist management staff in the administration and interpretation of corporate policies; providing advice that is appropriate, practical, and consistent with relevant legislation, regulations, laws, and/or industry standards.
  3. Business Solutions and Operational Efficiencies: Identify new business solutions and operational efficiencies, while providing recommendations that have a significant impact on SaskPower's business operations and strategies.
  4. Project Leadership: Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects to provide functional expertise for corporate and departmental strategic planning initiatives.
  5. Communication and Representation: Represent the department and prepare and present material to internal and external audiences as required.
  6. Industry Knowledge and Adaptation: Maintain knowledge of industry developments and best practices related to the area of specialization and adapt them to SaskPower's operational environment.
  7. Leadership and Direction: Provide leadership and direction to project teams and/or assigned staff as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Education and Experience: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or other related equivalent AND/OR related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR 5 years of hands-on experience in software integration development that includes:
    1. Design and Development: Designing, developing, and delivering secure, robust, and scalable leading-edge application integration solutions.
    2. Business Requirements and Technical Specifications: Experience with eliciting business requirements and translating them to technical specifications.
    3. Service-Oriented Architecture and Microservices: Sound knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices design principles and how to implement them.
    4. Programming Languages and Technologies: Proficiency in programming languages utilized in integration (i.e., JavaScript), APIs, middleware platforms, and data transformation.
    5. Security and Network Architecture: Experience in SOAP, WSDL, WS-Security, Java, JMS, XML, XSD, XSLT, knowledge of network architecture and security principles.
    6. Application Vulnerabilities and Countermeasures: A solid understanding of application vulnerabilities and countermeasures.
    7. Cloud and On-Premise Systems: Experience supporting integrations with cloud and on-premise systems.
    8. Secure and Excellent Quality Code: Experience producing secure, excellent quality code.
    9. OData Services and Protocols: Understanding of OData Services and protocols.
    10. SSL and Oracle Databases: Knowledge of implementing SSL and using Oracle databases and SQL coding.
    11. Software Engineering and Computer Science Principles: Thorough understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer science principles: object-oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, networking, usability, refactoring, testing, debugging, and configuration management.

While not required, it would be beneficial if the candidate has:

  1. Business Technology Platform (BTP) Development Experience: Experience as an effective Business Technology Platform (BTP) Developer, utilizing Integration Suite and the Cloud Application Programming model for building services and applications on SAP BTP.
  2. TIBCO Integration Experience: Experience in delivering successful TIBCO integration projects using TIBCO suite of products including TIBCO Enterprise Message Service, TIBCO Business Works, TIBCO Designer, TIBCO Administrator, TIBCO Policy Director, TIBCO Hawk, and TIBCO Adaptor.
  3. Microsoft Azure Integration Experience: Expertise with integrations utilizing Microsoft Azure.
