Food Service Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Second Cup Coffee. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our café, including supervising and coordinating the activities of our food service staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and Coordinate Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of our food service staff, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our customers.
- Train and Develop Staff: Train and develop our food service staff in their job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and other areas as needed.
- Estimate and Manage Inventory: Estimate and manage the inventory of ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation, ensuring that we have the necessary stock to meet customer demand.
- Quality Control: Ensure that the food and service we provide meet our high quality control standards, and that our customers have a positive experience in our café.
- Financial Management: Prepare budget and cost estimates, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
- Scheduling: Establish work schedules for our food service staff, ensuring that we have adequate coverage during peak periods.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
- Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, efficient oral communication, and a team player attitude.
- Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, and provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
- Support for Indigenous People: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Support for Mature Workers: Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
- Support for Visible Minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, and provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
