About the Role:
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a proactive and strategic individual to fulfill the role of Project Leader. This position is essential for overseeing and managing the execution of various projects across multiple portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the organization, coordination, and implementation of assigned projects within multidisciplinary portfolios.
- Lead project execution teams and ensure adherence to project documentation standards.
- Guarantee compliance with Project Management and Contract Management governance.
- Assist Work Control Team Leads with long-term planning and readiness assessments.
- Monitor and manage readiness requirements, addressing any technical or scheduling challenges that arise.
- Prepare and maintain project readiness communications and dashboards.
- Identify and manage risks associated with projects, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Facilitate effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with Vendor Partners to track project progress.
- Support the development of new work processes as required.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A completed four-year university degree in a relevant field.
- Consideration may be given to relevant post-secondary education or certifications equivalent to 3-4 years of concentrated study.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
Experience:
- Proven ability to thrive in a flexible hybrid office environment.
- Experience in project management, including developing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and managing project execution.
- Familiarity with the Nuclear industry is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide effective guidance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with highly developed organizational abilities.
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience is required.
