Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate storyteller to join our team and attract new readers to our publication. As a journalist, you will possess a strong sense of what constitutes a compelling narrative and the skills to convey it effectively. Your initiative and curiosity will help you build meaningful connections within the community while maintaining a fair and balanced reporting style.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently research and develop stories within your assigned coverage area.
  • Represent Accoravillage with professionalism when interacting with sources and the community.
  • Consistently adhere to our Journalism Code of Conduct, promptly addressing any errors with the editorial team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on stories as directed by the editorial leadership.
  • Utilize analytics tools to assess the impact of your stories and refine your approach for greater audience engagement.
  • Work closely with editorial management to enhance your performance and contributions.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven excellence in journalism.
  • Ability to travel for assignments, conduct interviews, and cover public events as needed.
  • Proficiency in digital media, multimedia journalism, and social networking platforms.
  • Strong ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with data-driven journalism and investigative reporting techniques.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Fluency in French is essential.
