Position Overview: Port Hawkesbury Paper is actively seeking a skilled individual to become a vital part of our Maintenance division. This role is under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on the preventive upkeep, repair, and diagnostics of production machinery and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and paper machine rolls.
  • Replacement of hydraulic and pneumatic components such as cylinders, hoses, and pumps.
  • Management and replacement of conveyor belts.
  • Identification and resolution of mechanical issues.
  • Utilization of CMMS for parts procurement and providing comprehensive feedback on maintenance tasks.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, respond to after-hours calls, and participate in shift work as required.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Familiarity with machinery alignment and laser alignment tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications; experience with CMMS is advantageous.
Experience and Educational Qualifications:
  • Millwright Certificate of Trade – Red Seal.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a millwright in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in welding and machining is a plus.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable.
  • Previous maintenance experience is essential.
