Energy Storage Systems (ESS) represents a growing segment of our business, offering modular solutions for both grid-connected and standalone applications.

Position Overview

The selected candidate will be tasked with crafting professional commercial proposals tailored for a diverse array of ESS clientele. This role involves engaging with customers to comprehend their unique applications and requirements. The individual will serve as a technical authority in ESS and will be involved in customer presentations to effectively communicate our product offerings and solutions. Collaborating within a matrixed environment, the incumbent will contribute to multiple projects as part of a high-performing global team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the North American sales and engineering teams to create competitive commercial proposals that drive sales of our energy storage solutions.
  • Gather, assess, and interpret customer specifications to identify the most suitable products and solutions.
  • Draft professional commercial proposals for a wide range of clients, utilizing a configurator for standard applications and customizing proposals for specialized needs.
  • Leverage knowledge of product costing and specific contractual terms to formulate each proposal.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to customers and internal teams regarding various applications of ESS and its components.
  • Establish new proposal processes, ensure adherence, and recommend enhancements.
  • Lead the ongoing development and refinement of the configurator for standard applications.
  • Coordinate with the Manufacturing/Operations Department to guarantee timely production, release, and shipment of ESS products.
  • Participate in customer meetings alongside the sales team, offering technical and commercial support related to our ESS offerings.
  • Work with the Sales Team to determine appropriate pricing strategies and assist in negotiating technical aspects of contracts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the ESS market, platforms, and industry trends to support the sales team with technical insights and product configuration advice.
  • Assist in formulating pricing strategies and developing costing and pricing documentation.
  • Evaluate technical and commercial elements to mitigate risks and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Train new sales team members on our products and solutions.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing strategies and promotional materials.
  • Support the development and management of sales tools and resources.
  • Utilize our CRM software, Salesforce, to coordinate and analyze the overall sales pipeline.
  • Engage with our R&D/Engineering and Business Application teams to create customer-focused ESS solutions, capturing technical and application requirements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Prepare a monthly executive summary detailing the ESS sales pipeline and proposal activities.
  • Uphold the company's core values, promoting a positive and innovative workplace culture.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 7 years of professional experience in the power sector.
  • Proven experience in energy storage systems.
  • Significant experience in preparing technical commercial proposals (minimum of 3 years).
  • Strong presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating the advantages and value of ESS products.
  • Knowledge and experience in marketing.
  • Adept at solving complex technical challenges and articulating results and recommendations.
  • Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and focused on achieving strategic objectives.
  • Consistently meets or surpasses established goals.
  • Demonstrates accountability and proactive communication regarding potential issues.
  • Client-focused, with a proactive approach to addressing business needs.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical writing abilities, capable of clearly conveying concepts and preparing concise technical proposals related to energy storage systems.
  • Possesses strong leadership, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrates strong project management and organizational capabilities.
  • High proficiency in computer skills, particularly with MS Office and Google tools.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes, including international destinations; must have a valid passport for travel.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is primarily office-based, with regular visits to the manufacturing facility.
  • Availability for potential business travel within Canada, the USA, and Europe is required; a valid passport is necessary for international travel.
