Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide information, assistance, and service to customers to promote the sale of merchandise and meet their needs and requirements.
- Merchandise Preparation: Unpack, check, price, and prepare merchandise for sale, ensuring that it is accurately displayed and easily accessible to customers.
- Store Maintenance: Perform general housekeeping duties, including dusting shelves and merchandise, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.
- Inventory Management: Stock shelves, counters, and display areas with merchandise as required, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Cash Handling: Operate a cash register and prepare daily reconciliation as assigned.
- Security: Maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise.
- Service Orientation: Strong service orientation and motivation, with the ability to serve and assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Product Knowledge: Sufficient experience and knowledge of hardware and building materials to effectively operate in all areas of the department.
- Physical Demands: Ability to fulfill physical job requirements, including lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Availability: Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
