We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Engagement Assistant to join our team at Aspira Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Living. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in promoting a dynamic culture that encourages resident wellbeing, choice, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement programs that align with our community's guidelines and brand standards, fostering a sense of belonging among residents.
- Collaborate with our Recreation and Events Manager to design and pilot new innovative resident experiences and programs.
- Utilize technology to create, enhance, promote, and provide in-suite and group programming within the community, engaging residents and promoting social interaction.
- Support our Market program, identifying ways to better serve residents' needs under the guidance of our Recreation and Events Manager.
- Assist with the volunteer program, including student internships, to provide opportunities for in-person and remote volunteers to engage with residents.
- Ensure compliance with our organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- A degree or diploma in Gerontology, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Health Promotion, or Health Sciences is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of motivational concepts with seniors, as well as health, wellbeing, and leisure principles.
- Certification to teach land group fitness, and where necessary aquatic fitness to seniors through a reputable organization, as approved by Aspira Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Living and/or willingness to obtain within the first 60 days post-hire.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record.
- A Serve it Right Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment).
- Current certificate in CPR and First Aid.
- Familiarity with the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Proficiency in Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as virtual technologies such as Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, etc.
