Position Overview:
As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in vaccines, you will leverage your medical expertise to promote the safe and effective utilization of GSK's products. Your role will involve meaningful scientific interactions and collaboration with key stakeholders, both internal and external, in alignment with the therapeutic area Medical Plan. This position is field-based, requiring regular travel within the designated regions.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Develop and nurture scientific relationships with key opinion leaders by delivering balanced scientific information, facilitating advanced medical education, and providing high-quality scientific support in accordance with GSK's ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary scientific resource in your territory, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of diseases, vaccines, treatments, and the competitive landscape to ensure effective scientific discussions and knowledge sharing.
- Adapt to various stakeholder needs, providing valuable insights across a range of healthcare professionals, organizations, and decision-makers in a non-promotional context.
- Act as a proactive liaison between the healthcare community and GSK's internal teams, sharing insights that inform strategic business decisions.
- Represent GSK at scientific conferences, leading engagement initiatives, providing coverage for sessions and abstracts, and contributing to post-conference summaries as needed.
- Deliver scientific training to GSK's commercial teams regarding product information and treatment conditions using approved materials.
- Support medical, clinical, and health economics teams with evidence generation projects and assist in identifying potential clinical trial sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Essential: Advanced scientific degree (MD, Ph.D., PharmD) with excellent proficiency in English for scientific communication. Candidates must reside within the specified territory.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emphasizing teamwork and strategic execution of medical affairs aligned with business objectives.
- Familiarity with the regulations governing medical information exchange in the Canadian pharmaceutical sector.
- Proven negotiation, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of reimbursement processes in Canada.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory for this field-based role.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in a medical affairs role, preferably in a field-based capacity, with established networks in relevant therapeutic areas.
