POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Chief Merchandising Officer, the Senior Buyer for Beauty will spearhead procurement initiatives across diverse beauty categories, products, and brands. This role encompasses overseeing sourcing, purchasing, inventory replenishment, and managing all vendor partnerships within the Beauty sector.
To excel in this position, candidates must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Exceptional communication skills are essential to engage effectively with our seasoned leadership team and to navigate complexities with a high degree of technical expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on business strategies and growth objectives, both short-term and long-term.
- Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) for various categories, including new and existing brands, product introductions, pricing strategies, profit margins, promotional activities, and product life cycles.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, promotional funding, special purchase opportunities, rebates, growth incentives, and favorable delivery and payment terms.
- Manage and execute RFQ packages, contract administration, product evaluations, and quality control issues; maintain a comprehensive supplier and product database.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new products and brands to ensure timely market entry.
- Curate and maintain product assortments to create a competitive edge while addressing customer needs and adhering to company standards.
- Foster and develop robust vendor relationships through consistent communication to ensure mutual understanding of both short-term and long-term objectives.
- Work in conjunction with the Planning Team and Replenishment Buyers to optimize inventory turnover, service levels, order cycles, deal execution, and overall supply chain practices.
- Generate, analyze, and utilize reports to assess category performance and identify challenges.
- Develop and implement profitable promotional co-op activities in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Execute Beauty planograms by collaborating with vendors to determine product assortments, secure samples, evaluate SKU/brand performance, manage SKU setups, and oversee fixture management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of five years of experience in beauty procurement, ideally within an eCommerce environment.
- Established relationships with direct vendors and merchants.
- Experience collaborating with third-party brands.
- A comprehensive understanding of the Beauty industry and competitive landscape.
- Proven ability to drive growth in an entrepreneurial setting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with Market Price Index (MPI) methodologies.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- This position operates Monday through Friday during core business hours and is onsite.
