About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide expert advice to customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medications, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.
  • Prescription Management: Verify prescriptions for proper dosage and ensure accurate dispensing of medications.
  • Compounding and Dispensing: Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by accurately calculating, measuring, and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients.
  • Medication Management: Maintain accurate medication profiles for customers, including registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled substances.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, technicians, and support staff.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Hold current certifications for drug administration by injection and intranasal routes, as well as Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification and provincial or territorial licensure.
  • Security Clearance: Possess a basic security clearance and be eligible for professional liability insurance.
  • Physical Demands: Work in a fast-paced environment, combining sitting, standing, and walking, with repetitive tasks and attention to detail.
