Job Summary

The primary responsibility is to guarantee the safe operation of electrical systems and apparatus. This role involves performing electrical repairs, calibrations, and maintenance across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, maintain, calibrate, modify, and install the electrical power distribution systems of the facility in a professional and timely manner. Calibrate instruments used in production and facility operations. Troubleshoot, maintain, adjust, repair, calibrate, or install various types of electrical equipment with complex interrelated circuits, including PLCs, generators, transformers, switchgear, controllers, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems. Utilize various testing instruments to identify issues, assess electrical load, and evaluate power quality. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, calibrate, and modify pneumatic control systems. Compile and maintain comprehensive documentation related to all building systems, including CMMS, Ontario Hydro Log Book, change control, and updated drawings. Collaborate with users, other facility staff, and vendors to provide electrical expertise and evaluate system effectiveness to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Coordinate contracted services as necessary and oversee all work performed on electrical systems and equipment. Assess the impact of work, communicate with department management and customers to schedule activities that minimize disruption to production. Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes and standards. Interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose issues within the electrical system or equipment. Follow manufacturer manuals for tracing complex circuitry in equipment. Implement acceptable temporary modifications to maintain safe operations. Utilize standard electrician's hand tools, measuring and testing instruments, conduit bender, power hacksaw, and pipe-threader. Ensure all work adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and established safety standards. Collaborate as part of a team to achieve all objectives. Conduct all work in accordance with established regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements. Complete assigned Continuous Improvement projects within designated timelines and present findings during biweekly report-out meetings as requested. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Completion of Grade 12 along with a current Ontario Industrial Electrician and/or Construction and Maintenance Electrician License. A minimum of five years of prior electrical maintenance experience, particularly with instrumentation and control. Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation. Effective planning and organizational skills.
