As a Project Manager at Ledcor, you will oversee the effective execution of daily operations, ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters. Your primary focus will be on estimating upcoming projects and strategizing the execution of intricate powerline construction initiatives by coordinating resources to fulfill operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit leadership in health, safety, and environmental stewardship throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Manage the selection, procurement, and negotiation processes for subcontractors and suppliers involved in complex and design-build projects.
- Oversee pursuit estimates, validating both direct and indirect costs while managing bid package responsibilities.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs for large-scale bids and supervise the takeoff process, including the review of summaries.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop and maintain the construction schedule, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to monitor project progress and address any ongoing issues.
- Work closely with the project team to identify and mitigate risks, optimizing impacts on timelines and financial objectives.
- Track and report on the financial aspects of the project, including forecasts and billing processes.
- Implement the Project Quality Program to guarantee that materials and work meet specified standards.
- Provide strong leadership to team members, leveraging individual and collective strengths to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in managing powerline construction or similar utility/industrial projects.
- At least 3 years of cumulative experience in estimating powerline construction projects.
- Previous experience in a Project Manager role or similar managerial/supervisory capacity.
- Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of construction documents, methodologies, and current practices.
- Strong negotiation and management capabilities.
- Proficient in planning and adhering to project schedules.
- Solid understanding of construction costs and budgeting.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and anticipate their needs.
- Skilled in identifying constructability challenges and devising solutions within project plans and schedules.
- A proven track record of building successful teams and fostering collaboration through motivation and coaching.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Work Environment:
- Position may involve remote sites across various regions, typically following a rotational schedule.
- Office-based work is expected when not engaged in field projects.
