About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Real Estate Finance Manager to join our team at National Bank. As a key member of our Commercial Real Estate team, you will play a critical role in developing new business opportunities and ensuring the day-to-day banking needs of our clients are met at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Structure credit and cash management arrangements, perform comprehensive financial/non-financial due diligence and risk assessment of credit proposals.
  • Credit Negotiation: Negotiate the terms and conditions with both clients and internal stakeholders, working in collaboration with your Team Lead.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop new client relationships by leveraging referral sources, existing clients, and centers of influence, working with your Team Lead to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Portfolio Management: Support your Team Lead's portfolio by helping clients attain their business objectives by proposing financial strategies based on the most suitable combination of Bank products and services.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the Western Canada team, as well as our teams in Montreal and Toronto, to reach our objectives of increased revenues and continuous improvement.
  • Client Needs: Meet clients' changing needs by adapting and optimizing financial products and sales approaches.
  • Team Support: Work with the Team Lead and other partners internally to support the achievement of overall objectives of the Real Estate Group.

You will be part of a large team of 100+ colleagues based across Canada, working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Our team is known for its expertise, speed, and passion for people, and we offer flexibility for you to organize your weeks between the office, home, and meetings with customers.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of real estate financing experience or direct experience within Commercial and/or Corporate Banking.
  • Skills: Demonstration of business development skills, understanding financial statements, accounting principles, and managing the credit quality of a portfolio with complex financing requirements.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of banking products and services for real estate businesses.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
