Payroll Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team at CB Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing the full cycle of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Process weekly payrolls, including union, non-union, and salary payments
- Ensure all government and third-party payments are issued accurately and on time
- Prepare weekly journal entries related to payroll
- Year-end processing, including balancing, preparing, and issuing year-end documentation for provincial and federal requirements
- Review and process new hire and termination paperwork
- Prepare records of employment and manual cheques as needed
- Prepare T4s, T4As, and pension adjustments for year-end balancing
- Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
- Act as backup for the Payroll Team
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced unionized environment
- 2 years' experience with ADP Workforce Now
- PCP Certified or in progress
- Strong understanding of payroll, HR processes, and data, including CBA agreements and benefit procedures
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications
- Ability to exercise good judgment in high-pressure situations
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Strong time management skills
- Intermediate MS Office skills
