Position Overview:

The Electrical Field Services Lead will oversee a team of technicians while actively engaging in field operations related to electrical systems. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and develop technicians, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct hands-on electrical testing, repairs, and maintenance in various field settings.
  • Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and data collection on electrical systems across low, medium, and high voltage categories (up to 500kV), including relay calibration and power metering.
  • Execute maintenance and repair tasks on substation apparatus.
  • Service and maintain equipment components, such as circuit breakers and brushes.
  • Plan and oversee the construction and testing of specialized devices and the deployment of innovative monitoring and control systems.
  • Analyze test results to identify malfunctions, assess system performance, and evaluate the impact of system notifications.
  • Travel frequently to customer sites for fieldwork, with occasional trips across North America.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, responding promptly to customer emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, a degree in Electrical Engineering, PSE designation, or Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in power systems testing and maintenance.
  • Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • NETA Certification or equivalent qualifications to achieve NETA Certification.
  • Preferred certifications include OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED; training can be provided.
  • Willingness to relocate as required for the position.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to electrical safety protocols.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
