Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team at IPEX, a leading manufacturer of advanced plastic piping systems. As a key member of our production team, you will play a vital role in transforming raw materials into high-quality gaskets that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to optimize production efficiency.
  • Perform tasks to prepare raw materials for gasket manufacturing, including cutting, sanding, and heating.
  • Verify the quality of raw materials and gaskets, identifying any defects or irregularities.
  • Load and operate various machines and equipment, including tape machines and presses.
  • Insert splicing tape between gasket ends and close molds, ensuring proper curing times.
  • Remove gaskets from molds and inspect for cracks, nibs, lumps, pinholes, and other defects.
  • Inject silicone into gaskets and break seal using pneumatic anvil.
  • Place gaskets on silicone spreaders and check for leaks.
  • Pack finished gaskets and verify proper quantities in each box.
  • Document and record all required information, including production data and quality control metrics.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production requirements.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced production environment, with varying degrees of light physical labor.
  • Exposure to heat and use of light press equipment.
  • Must adhere to workplace health and safety rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Safety conscious and able to work in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic English language skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to use or be trained on various types of measuring tools related to gasket manufacturing.
