We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Language Programs Department to deliver high-quality services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist classroom teachers in delivering language instruction to clients, either individually or in small groups.
- Prepare and duplicate teaching aids and classroom materials as required.
- Maintain records and organize resources, materials, and equipment at all sites.
- Develop program resources under the direction of the classroom teacher or LINC Coordinator.
- Facilitate conversation circles and assist in the planning of school events.
- Minimum one (1) year recent and relevant experience in a related field.
- Experience working with clients in a related field.
- Adult ESL, ELSA, or LINC volunteer or teaching experience required.
- Strong interpersonal and English communication skills required.
- Knowledge of multicultural and settlement issues, especially as they pertain to immigrants and refugees.
