As a vital member of our security team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the staff, property, company assets, and esteemed guests of Gateway. Your commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support for our team will be paramount. The Security Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a visible presence, patrolling the premises, managing crowd control, and escorting guests and employees as necessary.
Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks throughout your shift, including monitoring access to the facility and restricted areas, assisting visitors, managing lost and found items, overseeing alarm systems, controlling and distributing keys, documenting incidents, maintaining a daily log, and conducting investigations. Additionally, you may be called upon to administer first aid and medical assistance.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise and enhance team performance while actively engaging in security operations.
- Oversee training, coaching, human resources, safety, and recruitment for the team.
- Monitor facility traffic: observe for unusual behavior, communicate with management and surveillance teams.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by welcoming guests, addressing inquiries, and providing effective solutions.
- Escort individuals within the premises and parking areas; may administer first aid; conduct interviews and investigations; prepare reports.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas, ensuring they are free from hazards and debris.
- Execute all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
- Comply with departmental quality standards.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team
- Prior experience in security and relevant training is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
- Completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam prior to employment (employer will provide sponsorship) OR a valid BC Security License and completion of Gaming Security Officer (GSO) training/exam within 90 days of employment in B.C.
- Completion of Serving It Right prior to employment commencement (in BC).
