Join the team at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Registered Nurse
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to become part of the In-Patient Surgery team. This position is integral to providing exceptional care to patients in a surgical setting.
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients by functioning autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Conduct assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes. Engage in discharge planning, advocate for patients, and educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and wellness strategies. Enhance the quality of life from the perspective of patients and their families. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and respond to incidents in line with established protocols. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. Commit to ongoing professional development and maintain clinical competencies. Participate in designated committees and approved research initiatives as required.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).Skills & Competencies
Proven nursing practice experience related to surgical patient care. Strong understanding of pathophysiology relevant to common surgical diagnoses and procedures. Proficient in conducting nursing assessments and interventions tailored to the surgical patient population. Ability to anticipate and manage potential complications and care challenges. Competence in the use of medical equipment and technologies pertinent to patient care. Skilled in documenting patient care accurately and in a timely manner. Expertise in managing patients with complex health issues, including pain management and post-operative care. Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting intravenous and other medical devices.
