The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health and addiction issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide evidence-based therapies and interventions to clients
  • Collaborate with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments through ongoing education and training
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline (e.g., social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, occupational therapy)
  • Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders (e.g., DSM-5)
  • Proven experience in providing individual and group therapies, crisis intervention, and suicide risk assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
