Facility Sanitation Specialist

The Sanitation Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and performing essential upkeep of facilities and properties. Reporting directly to the Facilities Supervisor, the work must be executed safely and efficiently, adhering to all of Johnson Electric's Health & Safety policies, procedures, and quality standards. A solid understanding of SPS, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment, warehouse, and production areas
  • Procure parts, materials, and cleaning supplies as needed
  • Install and maintain ventilation systems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities
  • Manage projects and communicate outcomes effectively
  • Keep equipment in safe working order
  • Utilize and care for tools and equipment properly
  • Participate in the spill response team
  • Uphold compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety protocols
  • Carry out additional tasks as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Capability to lift weights exceeding 35 lbs
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Valid forklift license, propane handling certification, dangerous goods transportation training, confined spaces level 1 operations, working at heights training, and lift truck operation training
  • Proficiency in English
  • Familiarity with exposure to heat, dust, coolant, and oils
