Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at PHSA. As an Oncology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with cancer, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring patient reactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, including referrals to specialists and other healthcare services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge and skills, with ability to apply evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
