Cross Creek Contracting Inc is seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tiles, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces for tile installation, ensuring they are clean, dry, and free of debris
- Mix and apply adhesives, mortars, and other materials as required
- Set tiles in place, ensuring proper alignment and spacing
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
- Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
- Estimate costs and materials for tile installation projects
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in tile setting or a related field
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
- Accurate and reliable, with a client-focused approach
This is a permanent position, working 30 hours per week. The work site environment is dusty, and the work setting is commercial and residential. The language of work is English.
