Job Summary

The University of Toronto invites applications for a Research Associate position in the Department of Physics. The successful candidate will join the experimental high energy physics group, participating in the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the production and quality assurance of ITk modules in Toronto and at Celestica Inc.
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of the ITk, scheduled for 2026.
  • Coordinate with collaborators at CERN through regular trips.
  • Develop and implement project management and microelectronics development strategies.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in particle physics or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, assembly, and testing of microelectronics systems or silicon tracking detectors.
  • Excellent project management and database management skills, including MS Excel, Google Docs, and Python.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international team and manage a group of researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
