Job Title: Pharmacy Technical Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technical Assistant to join our team at MyHealthCare Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compound, package, and label pharmaceutical products with precision and accuracy.
  • Assist with scheduling and workflow to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Reassemble equipment and assemble packs of sterile supplies and instruments for delivery to hospital departments.
  • Bill third-party insurers and process claims in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Compound oral solutions, ointments, and creams with attention to detail and quality.
  • Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products.
  • Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collect statistics and perform general clerical duties to support the pharmacy team.
  • Prepare and maintain the cleanliness of collection areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked pharmacy.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure accurate tracking and ordering.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with tasks and duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience an asset, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
