Role Overview

We are in search of a highly inquisitive and dynamic leader to take on the role of Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management. In this capacity, you will be tasked with the development and execution of a comprehensive risk management framework across the organization, enabling Conexus to strategically define its risk appetite and effectively manage risks to safeguard and generate value. Your role will be pivotal in establishing and implementing a robust control environment while providing essential oversight at the enterprise level, particularly in critical areas such as cybersecurity, retail non-lending, and business continuity management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulating and spearheading Enterprise Risk Management strategies that prioritize member needs and align with Conexus' core mission.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, the Management Risk Committee, and the Board's Risk Committee to define and set the organization's risk appetite.
  • Creating and sustaining the Enterprise Risk Management Framework to facilitate the ongoing identification, assessment, management, and communication of risks.
  • Establishing processes for overseeing risk management functions and providing constructive challenges to practices and decisions.
  • Guiding and influencing risk owners throughout the organization to ensure alignment with the risk appetite and ERM Framework.
Operational Risk Management
  • Delivering clear and concise operational policies and procedures for retail non-lending activities.
  • Empowering the Risk Advisory team to offer guidance, advice, and coaching to retail teams.
  • Ensuring appropriate risk transfer through effective enterprise insurance policies.
Business Continuity Oversight
  • Maintaining and enhancing a comprehensive business continuity management program.
  • Holding stakeholders accountable for fulfilling business continuity requirements.
  • Facilitating oversight of business continuity management by relevant committees.
  • Providing leadership and direction during disruption events.
Cybersecurity Oversight
  • Ensuring effective oversight of cyber risk throughout the organization.
  • Promoting continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices.
  • Evaluating risks and providing constructive challenges to operational practices.
  • Facilitating cybersecurity risk oversight by the Management Risk Committee and the Board of Directors.
Candidate Profile

You are recognized for your strategic mindset, which allows you to provide valuable insights and foster collaboration across diverse teams. Your capacity to cultivate strong relationships aids in aligning resources and executing initiatives that enhance risk management.

Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in the financial services sector.
  • 5 years of senior leadership experience in risk management.
  • Graduate degree in commerce or business administration.
  • Professional designations such as MBA, CPA, CFA, or Risk Management certification are advantageous.
  • A relevant combination of experience and education may be considered.
