Position Summary

We are seeking an Intermediate or Senior Architectural Technologist to collaborate closely with the Project Lead or Project Architect. This role involves contributing to a diverse array of projects, varying in complexity and scale, while engaging with integrated design teams throughout all project phases, from pre-design to post-construction services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, and building programs for application in design and documentation.
  • Assist in verifying existing conditions through documentation and measurements.
  • Engage in client meetings and stakeholder workshops, preparing detailed meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate project deliverables, including schedules and meetings.
  • Support the setup and production of BIM [Revit] models, utilizing BIM technologies for project development.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate building systems and materials.
  • Contribute to the development of Schematic Design Documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Participate in building code reviews and apply findings to design and documentation.
  • Coordinate building systems effectively.
  • Implement sustainable design principles throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the creation of Design Development Documents, ensuring proper coordination of drawings and specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of Contract Documents, including drawings and schedules.
  • Review contractor RFI's and prepare necessary Addenda.
  • Support the development and submission of Change Orders and Supplemental Instructions.
  • Conduct Field Observations and site review meetings, documenting construction progress.
  • Prepare Record Drawings to maintain project documentation integrity.
  • Ensure design intent is upheld throughout all phases of the project.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on technical excellence.
  • Interest in holistic design and systems thinking.
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a project team environment.
  • Familiarity with accessibility codes and various building codes.
  • Understanding of construction systems and industry standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUP is advantageous.
  • Ability to hand sketch concepts effectively.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Building or Architectural Technology or equivalent experience.
  • ABTAM Certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years in the construction/design industry; additional experience is preferred.
