Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert anesthesia care to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective anesthesia plans.
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, including medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests, to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Administer anesthesia medications and monitor patients' vital signs, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
  • Completion of a residency program in anesthesiology.
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the province or territory.
  • Board certification in anesthesiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
