Position Overview
An Equipment Operations Specialist is tasked with the secure and effective management of moderately intricate automated assembly systems. This role involves ensuring the seamless functionality of assembly equipment by interpreting machine errors and making necessary adjustments to maintain operational integrity. The specialist will engage in repetitive tasks related to machine handling while maintaining a vigilant focus on equipment performance. Furthermore, this position is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality in the assembly of medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all essential functions of a Machine Operator I, along with the following duties:
    • Modify operational parameters (within set limits) to guarantee optimal quality and machine performance.
    • Diagnose machine faults and identify root causes, implementing permanent solutions (within validated equipment conditions) to prevent recurrence.
    • Execute minor machine adjustments, changeovers, and setups independently, without maintenance support (e.g., aligning tracks, simple feeder bowl replacements).
    • Exhibit adaptability in operating multiple machines of moderate complexity.

Moderately Complex Machines Include:
  • Involvement of press and torque fittings.
  • Typically consist of fewer than 10 stations.
  • Require moderate levels of operator attention.
  • Involve some alignment of stations and fixtures.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and general computer skills is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Understanding of machine maintenance or repair processes.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background checks is required.

Travel Requirements
  • Typically involves less than 5% travel.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Exposure to solvents, adhesives, or solder.
  • Ability to conduct visual inspections with and without magnification tools.
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • This position operates within a clean room setting.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing during shifts.
  • Must be capable of repetitively lifting and moving objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
