Lead the Engineering Team at Airbus Helicopters Canada Ltd
The Manager, Engineering will oversee the overall solution/design, development, and qualification/certification of products to meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for technical definition, quoting, engineering deliverables, schedule, cost, quality, and risk management aspects up to final customer acceptance.
Main Responsibilities:- Manage the Engineering Team: Plan, organize, direct, and delegate work within the engineering department. Identify and obtain required resources to perform required work.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Evaluate feasibility and estimates in support of new business development. Assist in the resolution of customer technical queries and problems.
- Manage AHCA's/Transport Canada Relationship: Create and maintain all engineering documentation required for compliance with company, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake technical feasibility and quoting studies for development of new products and recommend solutions for establishment of proposals to Sales and Marketing.
- Development of new helicopter components, optional equipment installations, including design, analysis, test, documentation, and certification as required to meet AHCA contracted obligations and airworthiness regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 7 years' experience working in an Aircraft/Aviation Engineering role and 3 years' managerial experience.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and delegate the activities and operations of an engineering department, and meet associated mission goals.
- Coordinate and review the technical work of the department or project teams.
- Leadership skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to develop positive working relationships with staff and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 pack/Google Workspace, understanding of design software (CATIA), business management software, and advanced computer skills.
