Adult Day Service Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Adult Day Service Worker to join our team at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, BC.

About the Role:

As an Adult Day Service Worker, you will work within a client-centered model, responsible for meeting the needs of an assigned group of clients by assisting them in carrying out established programs and activities of daily living tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual or group leisure/recreation programs such as arts, socio-cultural events, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises.
  • Set up and organize furnishings and equipment for programs and special events.
  • Accompany clients to programs, teach program techniques, oversee client participation, and report problems/changes to the supervisor.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADL) tasks such as toileting, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Report any concerns or problems related to ADL care (e.g., skin breakdown) to the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Grade 12, completion of Home Support Resident Care Attendant Program, experience in a variety of recreation programs, two years recent related experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
