Job Summary

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Repair Technician I - Static to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and on-demand services on grounds and non-technical facility components, including walls, floors, and other systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices.
  • Comply with all internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
  • Conduct regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection.
  • Provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies, and suggest enhancements and repairs.
  • Respond to routine service requests and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Operate facility mechanical, electrical, and other systems.
  • Manage work order life cycle, progressing from dispatched to completion, and record resolution data within the service maintenance management database.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) programs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 1 year of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
  • Ability to adhere to and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain facility groups and non-technical facility components.
  • Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies, and suggest enhancements.
  • Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards.
  • Strong client-service orientation and a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs as they arise. The successful candidate must be willing to wear personal protective equipment and meet enhanced security clearance requirements.
