Our operations are supported by a robust network of facilities and specialized equipment, ensuring safe and cost-effective management of waste and materials.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Operator for our Fort McMurray TRD facility. This position involves a shift schedule of 14 days on followed by 14 days off, with 12-hour shifts that alternate between day and night. The facility is located approximately 25km south of Anzac, AB, and shared accommodations are provided in Anzac. Candidates must arrange their own transportation to and from the accommodation and the facility.
Key Responsibilities
The Operator will be accountable for the daily safe and customer-focused operations related to waste treatment, oil processing, and water injection. The role requires constant interaction with clients, necessitating exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service. The Operator must be proactive in understanding the fundamental processes of the plant and must maintain mental and physical fitness due to the safety-sensitive nature of the work.
Essential Duties
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, including adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conducting Hazard Assessments.
- Overseeing the unloading of trucks and managing the documentation for oil emulsions and water & vac trucks.
- Monitoring ongoing water injection processes, performing filter changes, and maintaining pumps.
- Conducting boiler operations, testing, and managing steam system functions.
- Performing routine checks on the plant on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Carrying out general cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the operational period.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma, or equivalent.
- Preference for candidates with 4th or 5th class power engineering certification.
- A valid driver's license and successful completion of pre-employment assessments.
- Current safety certifications, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS, and TDG.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work long hours in a demanding environment.
- Proven capability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
