Job Summary

Arctic Glacier Inc is seeking a highly skilled Production Labourer/Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to resolve equipment issues.
  • Adhere to a culture of cleanliness and safety in the work environment.
  • Monitor and record equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Inspect products for quality and ensure compliance with food safety handling procedures.
  • Record daily logs of production data, including packages, bags, and wasted materials.
  • Verify date codes for accuracy and legibility.
  • Lead the start-up and shut-down of ice machines each day.
  • Record pressure and temperature readings to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Experience in a plant maintenance or production Labourer role, preferably with food packaging equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 40lbs repeatedly.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Experience in changing, maintaining motors, gearboxes, and augers.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical issues and working knowledge of VFDs and sensors.
  • Class 4 or 5 Power Engineering certification is an asset.
