Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Manager to lead our Credit Risk Modeling team at the Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our Data Analytics and Reporting team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining advanced data science models and solutions to support our credit risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex data science models and algorithms to analyze and predict credit risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions to support business decisions.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of machine learning models and statistical models to identify and mitigate credit risk.
  • Work with data engineers to design and implement data pipelines and data warehouses to support data-driven decision making.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and reporting to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning to ensure our models and solutions remain cutting-edge.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data science and machine learning, with a focus on credit risk modeling.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for credit risk modeling.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives.
