Job Responsibilities

Role: Security Officer - Patrol Services

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

Compensation: $20.50 / hr

Work Schedule: Continental Shifts

Job Description:

The on-site security personnel will deliver a range of services, executing the security objectives of the organization in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safety of individuals and their belongings on-site.
  • Mitigating risks of fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.

Parking Management:
Responsibilities include monitoring unauthorized vehicles and coordinating necessary services for maintenance.

  • Conducting minor repairs on parking access systems.
  • Restricting access to secure areas to authorized personnel only.
  • Performing regular patrols of the premises, documenting safety conditions and concerns.
  • Enforcing smoke-free policies.
  • Monitoring security systems including access control and CCTV.
  • Verifying visitor and employee identifications.
  • Responding to security alarms.
  • Completing incident reports and daily logs.
  • Issuing access cards and keys as necessary.
  • Managing the locking and unlocking of doors as required.
  • Reporting unusual incidents or hazardous conditions.
  • Documenting and securing lost and found items.
  • Providing safety escort services as needed.
  • Notifying management of any significant incidents.
  • Assisting in managing challenging visitors.
  • Attending to any events that may threaten the security of the facility while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Following standard operating procedures for handling illicit items.
  • Documenting all occurrences in a log or electronic report.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License required.
  • Current WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a security role.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required.
