About the Role

Mitacs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Business Development team as a Strategic Partnership Development Specialist. This role will be based at the University of Manitoba and will focus on developing and maintaining partnerships between academia and industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high-quality programming and services to our stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at the University of Manitoba, including faculty members and researchers, to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
  • Consult with industry partners to understand their research and development needs and identify opportunities for collaboration with academia.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote Mitacs programs and services to industry partners and academia.
  • Provide business development support to all Mitacs programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Recent Master's degree or PhD (1-2 years)
  • 1-2 years of experience in building community-academic partnerships
  • Strong networking skills and ability to think creatively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Desire to pursue a career outside of research and academia
