Job Title: Drywall Finisher

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at Mountain Air Construction LTD. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Work Environment

Our work site environment is dynamic, with a focus on safety and quality. You will be working at heights, in a dusty and noisy environment, and will be required to handle heavy loads.

Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Utilize a laser alignment system
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
