Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Gluer Machine Operator to join our Finishing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining folder/gluer equipment and processes to produce folding cartons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of the produced cartons meets the required standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Run the gluer machine according to customer specifications and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the equipment is running at optimal speed.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of crew members working on the machinery and ensure they are working efficiently and safely.
  • Communication: Communicate relevant information to facilitate the flow of production.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of quality and production.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English language knowledge/ability – speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Availability: Available to work a weekly rotation shift schedule.
  • Safety: Familiarity and adherence to company safety policies and government legislation.
