Gluer Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Gluer Machine Operator to join our Finishing Department at Graphic Packaging International, Inc. This role is responsible for setting up and maintaining folder/gluer equipment and processes to produce high-quality folding cartons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of the product and efficiency of production.
  • Run the job according to customer specifications.
  • Perform make-ready procedures, including general setup of the folder/gluer machine.
  • Adjust machinery to fit specific carton styles.
  • Maintain equipment at optimal speed.
  • Monitor automatic feeding, folding, and gluing of boxes to detect machine malfunctions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
  • Conduct minor maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations, adjustments, repairs, and authorized modifications.
  • Verify glue adhesion, carton alignment, and proper folding.
  • Record quality and production metrics accurately.
  • Lead crew members working on machinery, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Communicate relevant information to facilitate production flow.
  • Participate in ongoing training and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
  • English language proficiency – speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Minimum 3 years' prior experience operating industrial machinery/equipment, preferably gluer experience.
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Availability to work a weekly rotation shift schedule.
  • Familiarity with and adherence to company safety policies and government legislation.
