Position Overview:
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role within a multi-disciplinary team, offering personal support to patients who require both short-term and ongoing assistance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with daily living activities and support services in alignment with patient care plans.
- Collaborating closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Supporting nurses in delivering routine care that addresses patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and safety needs.
- Facilitating organized activities and programs to enhance patient engagement and wellbeing.
- Monitoring and reporting on patients' health status and emotional wellbeing.
You will be working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all patients, staff, and visitors.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of employment and maintain active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program, having completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum, may also be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for both independent and collaborative work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or training in Supportive Pathways/S course, Palliative Care, NVCI course, and It's Your Move course is advantageous.
