Practical Nursing Specialist

JOB PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Practical Nursing Specialist is tasked with delivering outstanding service to patients and physicians while supporting the organization's strategic goals related to clinic operations and patient care.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Initiating necessary documentation, processing billings, and collecting payments for non-insured services Assisting patients to examination rooms and preparing them for physician consultations Setting up and aiding in minor surgical procedures and examinations Conducting diagnostic tests as prescribed by the physician, including urinalysis and blood glucose testing Performing various care interventions and medical procedures within the authorized scope of practice Upholding the organization's core mission and values consistently Accurately documenting any medical procedures or interventions in patient records Adhering to cleanliness and safety standards Scheduling patient appointments and providing notifications Scanning and managing patient documents as required Handling incoming mail and faxes appropriately Completing assigned daily, weekly, and monthly tasks Participating in the training and orientation of new medical personnel and students Understanding physician profiles and executing requests to effectively support physicians Actively engaging in company initiatives KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: A two (2) year diploma from an accredited institution Current registration and good standing with the relevant regulatory body Minimum of one year experience in customer service Familiarity with Med Access software is an asset Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving abilities Excellent clinical, customer service, and organizational skills Ability to manage confidential information in accordance with privacy regulations Proficient computer skills, including Excel CPR certification and immunization Ability to manage confidential information in compliance with privacy regulations. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends. Ability to stand for extended periods.
