Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineering Lead to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a QE Lead, you will be responsible for driving quality and championing defect prevention/early defect detection across IT and assigned business lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to develop and implement quality engineering strategies and plans.
  • Lead the adoption of quality engineering practices and provide feedback on quality of deliverables.
  • Develop and execute test cases, maximize automation opportunities, and ensure maximum test coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing activities.
  • Provide analysis and consulting services on enhancements and fixes.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as a QE analyst/lead on applications with multiple functions, preferably in Treasury Services.
  • Hands-on experience in test case design at different levels (component/service, integration, and end-to-end/user scenarios).
  • Hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Robot Framework, Testing, SOAPUI, Appium) and scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in various environments (distributed, cloud, and mainframe, business workflows and services/APIs, databases).
  • In-depth knowledge of testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus, prioritize, and solve complex technical problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong business banking domain knowledge to ensure ability to deploy appropriate testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience as a test engineer and/or developer.
  • Certifications: ISTQB.
