**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Construction Lead - Technology to join our team at Plan Group. As a key member of our Technology Pre-Construction Team, you will be responsible for managing the pursuit and design development processes for large-scale technology projects.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the pursuit and design development activities for technology scopes on assigned projects, including large construction and alternate financing & procurement projects.
  • Facilitate and lead user group meetings and design workshops with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants to design and develop technology solutions that meet contractual obligations.
  • Review and interpret tendered technical specifications, including system performance specifications, drawings, and room data sheets, in coordination with technical engineers.
  • Manage a team of technical engineers and estimators to complete the overall estimating process and develop competitive technical design and project cost estimates.
  • Identify and track potential risks within projects and monitor and manage identified risks through regular reporting.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to gather information, clarify specifications, and present to clients and partners.
  • Work within an integrated multi-discipline group to ensure efficiencies are realized and offer the best value in pricing and maximum profit.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure designs meet specifications and are focused on efficient design with cost control at the forefront.
  • Work with manufacturers and service providers to obtain quotations that meet customer technical and performance specifications.
  • Work with contractors, consultants, and sub-contractors to maintain the schedule and budget of technology scopes in construction projects.
  • Participate in the validation of pursuit and design development activities during the pursuit, design development, construction, and commissioning phases of each project.
  • Develop procedures and working practices for effective communication and increased efficiency in pursuit, design development, budgeting/estimation, and risk analysis.
  • Identify partnerships and efficiencies within the pursuit process to support Plan Group as the vendor of choice.
  • Contribute to the business development of technology-related opportunities for Plan Group, including attending seminars, trade shows, and client-sponsored events.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum 5 years' technology consulting and/or technology/IMIT construction industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in a construction-related field.
  • Working knowledge of various technology systems and communications infrastructure, including structured cabling, data networks, wireless networking, tracking systems, audio visual systems, nurse call, public address, voice/telephony communications, and distributed antenna systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of building operating systems, such as building automation systems and facility security (CCTV, access control, duress), considered an asset.
  • Understanding of smart building technologies, including system integration and interoperability, considered a valuable asset.
  • Experience and knowledge in project budget development and financial management.
  • Experience in public-private partnerships (P3) and alternate financing procurement projects considered a key asset.
