Position Overview
This role presents an exciting opportunity to become part of a vibrant and inclusive team dedicated to shaping the future of Human Resources at Value Partners Investments. Reporting directly to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist will support various aspects of daily HR operations while ensuring seamless business functionality. The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive HR support throughout the employee lifecycle to department leaders at the managerial level and below. This position will collaborate closely with other essential groups within the organization, possessing a well-rounded understanding of Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Compensation, HRIS, Payroll & Benefits to provide high-quality, integrated operational HR support for the business, employees, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the complete recruitment and selection processes.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding procedures for employees.
- Manage all administrative functions related to onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in the human resource system and compliance audits.
- Offer guidance and support to managers regarding employee matters, performance management, and interpretation of HR policies, programs, and regulations.
- Create, maintain, and audit personnel files to ensure adherence to applicable employment standards and regulatory requirements.
- Advise management on effective resolutions for employee relations challenges.
- Assist in coaching and guiding managers on conducting performance discussions with employees.
- Foster a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives.
- Address inquiries related to policies, procedures, and programs.
- Support the communication, interpretation, and maintenance of the employee handbook, directory, and organizational chart, contributing to policy development.
- Monitor employee climate to identify trends and issues, developing recommendations for resolution with business units as necessary.
- Stay informed on best practices to ensure fair treatment of employees.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or a related field.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in a human resources capacity.
- Thorough understanding of employment standards legislation and regulations.
- A combination of education and experience will be taken into account.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, writing abilities, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong time-management and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of flexibility and excellent multitasking capabilities.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing detailed projects and enhancing processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
