Job Title: Corporate Counsel

At Tony's Fresh Market, we're committed to excellence in everything we do. As a Corporate Counsel, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our business operations are conducted with integrity, respect, and collaboration.

Position Summary:

The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for reviewing vendor contracts, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions are negotiated and incorporated, and providing day-to-day legal advice and counsel in multiple areas of the law, including commercial, business, employment, insurance, privacy, and real estate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with contract business owners to ensure proper understanding of contract provisions.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized location/database of client contracts, trademarks, licenses, and case files.
  • Manage and work with outside counsel on litigation matters, including reviewing, analyzing, and modifying pleadings, law and motion, and Agreements.
  • Assist with investigations and gather information for issues relating to Human Resources, Compliance, and Risk Management.
  • Draft and revise company policies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company insurance programs to ensure appropriate issues addressed in contracts and subcontracts.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Juris Doctorate Degree, preferably from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • License to practice law, in good standing, in California.
  • 1-3 years of legal experience, with an emphasis on contract administration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and weigh facts and information from many sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to assess business risk in varying situations and make associated recommendations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work on/manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

The work environment is typical of an office. Occasional travel may be required in this position.
