We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Inspections. As a key member of our inspection team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of audit practices in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of audit firms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with audit firms, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality audit practices.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting areas of strength and weakness, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in the development and implementation of inspection methodologies and procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including audit firms, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, to promote audit quality and regulatory compliance.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and issues in the audit sector, and provide expert advice and guidance to the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive public company accounting and audit experience at a Big Four or other national accounting firm.
- CPA designation required.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Canadian Auditing Standards; US GAAP is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with audit firms and other stakeholders.
- Ability to travel, approximately up to 6 weeks per year.
