Job Summary:
The Director of Athletics and Recreation at Nipissing University is responsible for leading the overall operation of a comprehensive athletic program. This includes promoting excellence, integrity, and achievement among student-athletes, as well as overseeing the development, implementation, and assessment of athletic programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Athletics in leading the overall operation of the athletic program
- Implement athletics through promoting excellence, integrity, and achievement among student-athletes
- Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of athletic programming
- Work with the Director of Athletics regarding all elements of leadership and evaluation of coaches
- Act as an ambassador of the University in the recruitment of top-quality coaches and athletes
- Liaise with external service providers and provincial and national organizations to promote and coordinate sport across Canada
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration/Physical Education or a related field
- Four years of progressive experience in a student-focused environment with a background in athletics and recreation, student development, or post-secondary education
- Negative Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
