Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs, instructs, and works with full-time and seasonal staff to ensure the cemetery operation runs smoothly.
  • Participates in budget preparation and planning for the cemetery operation.
  • Maintains records for all phases of the cemetery operation, including the computerized burial inventory.
  • Ensures that equipment is properly maintained and operated, and controls the purchasing of tools and supplies.
  • Liaises with other City departments, agencies, and funeral directors as required.

Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation together with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in the daily operation of a cemetery.
  • Knowledge of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act and its regulations.
  • Ability to supervise and communicate effectively with staff and the public.
